Within the Ana Hotels Group, caring for the environment, caring for the education of children or simply the desire to bring joy to people's faces are just few of the things that make us continuously involved in ESG actions (environmental, social, governance) including CSR. We believe in simple gestures that can contribute to positive change, whether it is about creating workshops in which children’s imagination is stimulated and environmental education is formed, or, about support for people with disabilities, actions that we regularly implement in our locations. The social responsibility campaigns, corporate governance and the ecofriendly actions that we implement represent our contribution to the community and the business environment as well as our care to protect the environment.

"Go Green" was our motto when we decided to install charging points for electric cars throughout the parking lots of our hotels and photovoltaic panels at Crowne Plaza Bucharest and ANA Hotels headquarters.
A healthy lifestyle is maintained with the most natural and organic foods possible. Our chefs have created their own spice and vegetable gardens so that their dishes have a perfect taste, and the experiences of our guests are unforgettable.
Annually, more than 60,000 disposable plastic containers were used for our hotel bathrooms supplies. By being aware that even through simple actions like preventing the generation of packaging waste we can make a significant contribution to protecting the environment and reducing CO2 emissions, we have reduced plastic consumption by replacing disposable containers with reusable containers. We also gave up disposable plastic packaging and cutlery in favor of biodegradable ones, respecting the regulations in force. Greener Stay is our initiative to reduce water, energy and detergent consumption. In each room guests will find an Ana Hotels EcoFriendly door hanger through which they will be invited to give up the cleaning service that day by placing the door hanger on the door handle outside until 10 pm. In gratitude for their involvement in our environmental initiative, guests who are members of the loyalty program will receive 10 In by Ana Hotels loyalty points. In some of the hotels in the group, incandescent bulbs have been replaced with LED bulbs to reduce energy consumption.
In the summer of 2021, we started the first creative recycling workshopswith eco-friendly themes dedicated to children which we organized in the garden of the Ana Hotels Poiana Brașov Complex. Who says you can't learn something useful when you are on vacation? During these workshops, children learned how to do separate collection of packaging waste, they learned how a simple PET container or a milk carton can be creatively turned into toys for them and how important recycling is to environmental protection.
Sustainable exploitation, the recovery of used sludge and its disposal in the natural environment of origin to ensure the regeneration of the source and reserves for future generations, are vital objectives for Ana Hotels Eforie Nord-Ana Health Spa. After use for therapeutic, aesthetic and recovery purposes, the resulting sludge is discharged through a special pipe into Lake Techirghiol, in special designed areas.
SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
When we have the opportunity to make a small contribution to a cause we believe in, we respond to the challenge immediately. That is why, through Ana Ski & Snowboard School, we joined the CSR “Skiing with Disabilities” campaign started by Smile Caiac Sports Club Association, which supports people with locomotor disabilities. Dozens of people with locomotor disabilities were able to enjoy the unique sensation of skiing, thanks to a chair specially custom for them, that Ana Hotels bought and donated to Smile Caiac Sports Club Association. We learned with them that anything is possible and that a disability cannot stop you from enjoying the snow! In this sense, Ana Ski and Snowboard School wants to continue to offer special moments to wonderful people who want so much to be able to ski and be on the slopes, by purchasing a special chair and donating it to the Smile Kayak Club Association.
Ana Spa Poiana Brașov joined the "Ophori Handmade Cosmetics" project, the first social insertion enterprise in Brașov, also authorized as a Protected Unit. The Ophori cosmetics production staff is formed entirely of people with disabilities. Ana Spa Poiana Brașov involvement consists in purchasing spa products, with the aim of creating new jobs for these special people.
We enjoy the sight of the little ones smiling during the Holidays. The group's employees become generous helpers of Santa Claus alongside children from the Association Center One Step Before Autism Argeș, a non-governmental organization which mission is to improve the lives of children affected by autism spectrum disorders and Marasesti Family Modules within the Directorate General of Social Assistance and Child Protection Vrancea.
CORPORATE GOVERNANCE
Involvement in organizations in the field
Ana Hotels is part of the most important organizations in the field and actively involved through its representatives. With the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, Ana Hotels, through CEO Simona Constantinescu, took over the working group within the Romanian Hotel Industry Federation (FIHR) which dealt with labor-specific measures and, together with the similar working group within The Concordia Confederation, negotiated and assisted throughout the development of the legislative framework necessary for the financial support offered by the state to the businesses affected during the pandemic, through the Ministry of Labor and its subordinate structures.
Promoting the spa and spa tourism was a priority of the Ana Hotels group both nationally and internationally, through the presence of Iuliana Tasie - General Manager of Ana Hotels Europa, as Vice President of the European Spa Association (ESPA) and the Tourism Organization Bathing (OTPBR). Romania's acceptance into the ESPA is an European and International recognition of its natural resources, but especially of the medical and health therapies that are carried out within the spas. An important aspect of ESPA membership is its permanent activity in Brussels as member of the EU working groups that are consulted on the requirements issued by the European Parliament on health tourism and beyond.
Employer branding
Since the beginning of the pandemic, the Ana Hotels Group has sought to implement measures with a positive impact and to protect the members of the team, their safety at work and the reduction as much as possible of their dismissal being prioritized. The change in the rules of service and hygiene in hotels and SPAs, the restrictions and measures imposed by the authorities during this period have led to the need for training the employees on these measures, and also to apply new ways of communicating with customers, costumer care, safety and hygiene. To this end, a partnership has been established with the Regina Maria Health Network which has ensured compliance with health standards imposed during the pandemic and regular training and testing campaigns, as well as information on vaccination, when the process started. A contract has been concluded with Signal Iduna so that employees can feel safe and receive health insurance with medical support when that is needed.
