A marvelous 'open air museum', full of towers, bastions, defense walls, and very old churches (Bartolomeu Church, Black Church, Saint Nicholas Church), with the old neighborhoods Scheii (the Romanian neighborhood), the Fortress or the Crown (historical center), Brasovechi, Bartolomeu, Blumăna, Warthe, Brasov was documentarily attested for the first time in 1235, under the name of Corona (Crown) in Catalogus Ninivensis II.
